A flexible array of premium powder-binder systems and infiltrants

Z Corporation offers several material systems to satisfy a variety of modeling needs. The different material options allow users to customize the material properties for each application, further enhancing the convenience of Z Corp. 3D Printers. Every material system offers the high speed printing and low material costs standard with Z Corp. 3D Printers.

Loading a new material into the 3D Printer is a quick and simple process. In addition, all unused material is recyclable, further reducing
material costs.

Z Corporation printers are the most flexible 3D printers on the market today. Parts are produced using high performance composite powders. Differing mechanical properties are provided not only from the powder but also from different infiltration and finishing techniques. Every material system offers high speed printing and low material costs. Loading a Z-Printer is a quick and simple process. In addition all unused material is recycled, further reducing material costs.

Z Solutions EU will be happy to advise on the most suitable powder and finishing techniques after discussing your needs with you.

High Performance Composite

The latest high performance composite material can be used to make strong, high-definition parts and is the material of choice for colour parts. The powder is optimised for best surface finish, feature resolution and part strength. This material is ideal for:

  • High strength needs
  • Fine structures
  • Colour printing
  • Accurate representation of design details

And compared to earlier powders offers:

  • Up to 25% faster printing speed
  • Better part definition
  • Richer colours

Elastomeric

This powder has been optimised for infiltration with an elastomer resin to create parts with rubber-like properties. This powder is cellulose based that combined with other additives allow elastomeric resin to be easily absorbed to provide very flexible parts.

Part Finishing

Parts and models made with composite powders have relatively smooth surfaces as they come out of the printer, and so can be used directly. However for creation of a presentation part or model the part can be easily sanded very smooth, drilled, glued or screwed together.

Further finished techniques can be used to further enhance the part such as spray painting in a specific RAL or PANTONE colour, electroplated or finished with water transfers to create many surfaces for presentation.

Z Cast

Direct casting powders can be used to create ‘sand’ moulds for non-ferrous metals with a melting point of up to 1800°C. This material is a blend of foundry sand, plaster and other additives that have been combined to provide strong moulds with good surface finish.

Using the Z Cast process provides the ability to produce cast metal parts from a CAD file much faster and much lower cost that traditional casting methods. The process involves printing moulds and cores on a Z Printer so eliminating the pattern and core box production step. Molten metal can then be poured directly into the printed 3D moulds. This allows very cost effective production techniques and the ability to produce prototype cast parts that were previously too expensive in money and time.

Our high performance composite powder can also be used to make patterns for casting very quickly and at low cost compared to traditional techniques. Because the Z Printer can print any 3D form you have the potential to create complex casting forms very easily.

The Z Cast process guarantees:

  • Very fast turn-around from CAD file to metal part
  • Ability to print complex moulds and cores
  • In house mould making capabilities for product manufacturers
  • Simple metal pouring process for foundries
